"How to Make a Killing", the European hit, arrives in Colombia

Suspense comes to the mountains: How to Make a Killing, Europe's most successful horror-comedy, debuts in Colombia in April.

April brings one of the year's most anticipated releases to Colombian cinemas: How to Make a Killing, the horror-comedy that has conquered festivals on five continents and become the genre-cinema phenomenon of Europe. It can be enjoyed at the country's major exhibitors.

What's the story about?

Michel and Cathy lead a quiet life in the mountains, trapped in the routine of an uneventful marriage. Everything changes in an instant: an accident caused by a bear leads them to accidentally kill two drug traffickers and to discover, in the vehicle's trunk, a briefcase with more than two million euros.

The temptation is immediate. They decide to hide what happened and keep the money. What follows is a storm of consequences: radical changes in their relationship, black-humored criminal entanglements and the growing attention of a local police force that starts asking uncomfortable questions.

With 113 minutes of pure adrenaline, How to Make a Killing gives no respite. Every twist sows more doubts than answers, and between nerves, awkward silences and unexpected bursts of laughter, the suspense becomes irresistible. Critics have compared it to Fargo, but with the warmth and irony of the best contemporary European cinema: witty, lively, and able to exceed any expectation.

Directed by Franck Dubosc —who also stars— alongside Laure Calamy and Benoît Poelvoorde, three of the biggest stars of French cinema today, the film bears the seal of Gaumont, the oldest film studio in the world. Its festival run speaks for itself: Leeds, Istanbul, Cairo, Mar del Plata and Solothurn are just some of the windows that opened their doors to it.

With this release, Antártica launches in Colombia its new curatorial line Sideral, devoted to genre cinema: suspense, thriller, black comedy and horror that deserve to be experienced on the big screen, with all the intensity only a dark theatre can offer. How to Make a Killing is the first bet of this line, and it couldn't be more emphatic: it combines high-flying entertainment with a sharp look at temptation, ambition and the unpredictability of everyday life.

How to Make a Killing opens in April across the country. What would you do if danger and temptation arrived together, disguised as opportunity?
